Project Overview

St. Clare’s Residential Development is situated in Harold’s Cross, Dublin, on the historic site of the former St. Clare’s Convent. The project comprises 220 residential units in a mix of dwelling types, distributed across five newly constructed buildings. It also includes the sensitive restoration of the protected St. Clare’s convent and chapel.

The new buildings, rising four to five storeys, are thoughtfully designed to complement the existing four-storey structures nearby. The preserved convent buildings form a street-facing frontage, which will be opened to create a welcoming pedestrian entrance. The development is arranged around two spacious courtyards, providing open circulation areas and access to residential entrances.

Vehicular access is maintained via the existing entry point, leading to an underground car park with capacity for 154 vehicles.

The development includes a range of resident amenities, such as a crèche, gym, residents’ lounge, and business suites, integrated within both the restored and new buildings. All apartments are designed to exceed the latest DoEHLG space standards and are built with sustainability in mind, aiming for high A3/A2 BER energy ratings.

A carefully selected palette of building materials creates a cohesive visual identity across the development, while unique architectural elements highlight key focal points throughout the site.
