BKD were delighted to attend and be part of the WOW for Simon charity dinner event last week. Over €200,000 was raised for this excellent charity at a critical time of the year. We were delighted to win the best video competition and to do our part for a great cause.
Congratulations to Google Ireland on the occupation of Bolands Mills and the addition of so many local retail and community uses to their campus. We are particularly pleased to see that all the work by our design team, client and contractors to bring the protected buildings back to use has enabled Google to make such a fantastic contribution to this part of the city.
A look back on the Baggage Control Building at Dublin Airport which was completed in 2022. This turnkey project delivered an extension to Terminal 1 to house a new suite of offices, a control room, meeting rooms and staff facilities with four levels of new baggage security systems below. This upgrade to the baggage system allows for a direct link for baggage across to Terminal 2. The construction of the building was undertaken during the challenging times of Covid as well as in the operating in the complex live airside environment of Dublin Airport.
Tánaiste Simon Harris, Mayor of South Dublin County Council Pamela Kearns, and Ministers John Cummins and Kieran O’Donnell to officially turn the sod at Heron’s Lock, our newest development in Lucan. Heron’s Lock will deliver 395 new homes as part of the Clonburris SDZ – including a mix of houses, duplexes, and apartments.

Congratulations to our Clients, GoldenPort Estates on a great contribution to the Naas Road regeneration plan. We are delighted to be the architects for the recently completed Castleview Residential Development. Located off Muirfield Drive on the Naas Road, the aim of the project was to create a great place to live within a sustainable regeneration of the existing developed lands. The development comprises of 371 units in a mix of one, two and three bed apartments. 10 individual residential blocks range in height from 4 storeys to 7 storeys. There are also substantial tenant amenity spaces including a creche, gym space, residents lounges and business suites, all designed around individual internal courtyards to provide both public and private open space. A linear park runs through the centre of the development following the curve of the Camac River creating links between Drimnagh Castle, Landsdown Valley and the Bluebell luas stop.
