Project Overview

Burke-Kennedy Doyle were employed in 2006 to design a contemporary interior for this landmark Hotel building. The public areas were opened up and a glass box entrance volume was added to the front of the Hotel allowing daylight into the previously dark Reception area. The Reception, Bar and Restaurant were converted into one continuous volume providing a continuous flow of spaces along a walkway through these areas. An interior pallet of warm coloured stone flooring, smoked oak and continuous light coloured plaster ceilings with concealed accent lighting was adopted to bestow a contemporary feel.
