Project Overview

The European Province Centre of the Christian Brothers was completed in early 2008 as a separate built entity within the overall masterplan for the Marino Institute of Education. The development consists of administrative offices, a document archive and community residence for the leadership of the order. The programme required a fully integrated sustainable design strategy which led to complete natural ventilation of all buildings, highly efficient space and water heating, rainwater reclamation and a super insulated building envelope. The overall result of the sustainable strategies adopted has been a 50% reduction in energy use and carbon emissions.
