Project Overview

The commission was won following an Architectural competition for the design of a new City Hall for Limerick City Council.

This project, constructed on a sensitive site on the banks of the River Shannon and adjoining the historic King John’s Castle includes offices for Limerick city Council, Council Chamber and Restaurant together with a new District Court and Court offices and a Museum Exhibition space. Part of the development was inserted within the walls of the old women’s prison. The scheme creates a series of landscaped gardens overlooking the Shannon which are accessed by glazed street running through the buildings.
