Project Overview

The Terminal was designed to cater for the high speed catamaran ferry service between Dun Laoghaire and North Wales.   Central to the concept is a new Public Plaza which provides a civic focus and unites the harbour with the Town Centre of Dun Laoghaire. The building is designed to evoke nautical imagery. Contrasting materials are used; Wicklow granite at the landward end with metal panels and glazing to seaward and sail like Teflon canopies at the vehicular assembly area. The complex caters for Arrival and Departure areas with baggage handling, Tourist Information, Bureau de Change and restaurants and shops. In addition there are vehicular marshalling areas, a Motorist Facilities building and support offices.
