Project Overview

The project brief called for the provision of a modern Courthouse which is at the same both dignified and unintimidating. Three main courtrooms are provided, Circuit Court, District Court and Family Law Court. Intersecting curved forms at the front of the building define the entrance courtyard and locate the main entrance, providing a sheltered external space for gathering, waiting and conducting informal court business. An internal curved colonnaded space separates ‘front of house’ accommodation from the two main courtrooms.
