Boland’s Mills
Project Overview
A vibrant new urban quarter has been delivered, defined by its distinctive character and the seamless blend of contemporary architecture, revitalized heritage buildings, and thoughtfully designed public spaces, all set against a dynamic waterfront backdrop.
BKD Architects worked in close collaboration with Dublin City Council, engaging in a comprehensive consultation process that played a key role in shaping the North Lotts and Grand Canal SDZ Planning Scheme, particularly the vision for this landmark site.
At the heart of the development are three striking signature buildings, their elegant, tapering forms designed to complement the surrounding skyline, including the Millennium Tower and Montevetro. Their warm, textured façades reflect the character of the original brick and limestone structures, preserving a strong visual connection to the area’s industrial heritage.
Spanning 37,000m², the scheme offers a vibrant mix of uses, office spaces, residential apartments, restaurants, cafés, and a cultural exhibition venue, integrated within both newly constructed buildings and sensitively refurbished historic structures.
