The Reflector
Project Overview
The building formally addresses the waterfront through large, orthogonal stone-framed elements designed to be legible from a distance. A pair of tall pergolas marks the entrance to a new pedestrian street, creating a strong visual threshold.
The eaves line of the adjacent protected brick-faced warehouses is extended horizontally into the new frontage, while the larger geometric façade elements appear to float above, articulated by subtle set-backs along the edges.
A cascading pattern of metallic mesh sun-screen panels animates the dock-front façade. Supported by tensioned stainless-steel cables, the panels are more densely spaced near the top, where solar shading is most needed, and gradually open out as the pattern descends.
