Residential & Office Development, Queensgate

The development comprises a new six storey Residential block with Retail uses at street level and a new curved Office Building, linked at first floor to the former McDonogh’s Hardware premises, a listed building and the last remaining example of 1940’s Art Deco in the Galway area, which has been refurbished for Retail and Office use. The new buildings complete the urban block and create a central landscaped garden between old and new. In terms of materials, painted sand and cement render is contrasted with areas of selected limestone, matching the general pallet of materials in the Galway area. A powder coated aluminium window system is used throughout the new block with cedar panels providing contrast in key locations.
